With a quorum being present, the meeting was
called to order.

AGENDA ITEM #1—Approval of the Minutes for December 7, 2010

The Minutes were approved.

AGENDA ITEM #2—Approval of the Agenda for February 8, 2011

The Agenda was approved.

AGENDA ITEM #3—Academic Senate Election: At-Large
Executive Committee Member

The elections were held.
Senator Mohammad Salama was elected At-Large Executive Committee Member.

AGENDA ITEM #4—Recommendation from the Academic Policies
Committee: Proposed Revisions to
the Reasonable Accommodations Policy for Employees with Disabilities, 2nd Reading

Senator Getz moved and explained
revisions to the Item. The motion was made to approve the Item. The motion carried.

AGENDA ITEM #5—Recommendation from the Academic Policies
Committee: Proposed Revisions to
the Requirements for Baccalaureate Degrees Policy: Addition of Culminating Experience and
Capstone Course Requirements, 1st Reading

Senator Getz moved and
explained the Item. The Item was discussed by the Academic Senate and returned
to committee with recommendations for revisions.

AGENDA ITEM #6—Recommendation from the Curriculum Review and
Approval Committee: Proposed Title
Change and Revisions to the Labor Studies BA Program Curriculum, 1st
Reading

Senator Stowers moved and
explained the Item. Senator Holzman motioned to move the item to Second
Reading. The motion carried. The Item was discussed. The motion was made to
approve the Item. The motion carried.

AGENDA ITEM #7—Recommendation from the Curriculum Review and
Approval Committee: Proposed
Revisions to the Core Curriculum and Concentrations in Child & Adolescent
Development BA Program; Concentration Young Child & Family; Youth &
Family Services; Concentration Research & Public Policy, 1st
Reading

Senator Stowers moved and
explained the Item. Senator Vaughn motioned to move the item to Second Reading.
The motion carried. The item was discussed. The motion was made to approve the
Item. The motion carried.

AGENDA ITEM #8—Recommendation from the Executive Committee: Proposed
Reapportionment for 2011-2012 Academic Senate College Representatives, 1st
Reading

Senator Trautman moved
and explained the Item. The item was discussed. Senator Holzman motioned to
move the item to Second Reading. The motion carried. The item was discussed by
the committee. The motion was made to approve the Item. The motion
carried.

AGENDA ITEM #9—Recommendation from the Student Affairs
Committee: Proposal to Rescind the
American Ethnic Heritage Committee, Policy #S81-79, 1st Reading

Senator McCracken moved
and explained the rationale behind the rescinding of the Item. The item was
discussed. Senator Wagner motioned to move the item to Second Reading. The
motion carried. The item was discussed by the committee. The motion was made to
rescind the Item. The motion carried.
