called to order.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

AGENDA ITEM #1—Approval of the Minutes for March 22, 2011

The Minutes were approved.

AGENDA ITEM #2—Approval of the Agenda for April 12, 2011

The Agenda was approved.

AGENDA ITEM #3—Recommendation from the Curriculum Review and
Approval Committee: Proposed
Revisions to the MS Program in Psychology, Concentration School Psychology and
MA Program, Concentrations Developmental and Social Psychology, 1st
Reading

Senator Stowers moved and
explained the Item. Senator Holzman motioned to move the Item to Second
Reading. The motion carried. The vote was called to approve the Item. The motion
carried.

AGENDA ITEM #4—Recommendation from the Academic Policies
Committee: Proposal to Temporarily Suspend Academic Senate Policy on the
Designation of Colleges and the Redefinition of Schools & Departments
through December 31st, 2011, 1st Reading

Senator Getz moved and explained
the Item. The Item was discussed and will return in Second Reading at a future
Academic Senate meeting.

AGENDA ITEM #5—Recommendation from the Student Affairs
Committee: Proposed Resolution Calling for the Creation of an Affordable
Textbook Task Force, 1st Reading

Senator McCracken moved and
explained the Item. The Item was discussed and will return in Second Reading at
a future Academic Senate meeting. The following questions were raised:

a.
What is the function of the Task Force?

b.
Is it not possible to use existing resources
rather than create a new Task Force?

c.
Will accessibility be considered?

d.
What kinds of resources are already available
for faculty to make text books more affordable for students?

the Perpetual Academic Calendar Policy, 1st Reading

Senator Trautman moved and explained the Item.
The Item was discussed and will return in Second Reading at a future Academic
Senate meeting.

ITEM#7—Recommendation from the Academic Policies Committee: Proposed Revisions to the Baccalaureate
Degree Committee Membership, 1st Reading

Senator Getz moved and explained the Item. The
Item was discussed. Senator Holzman motion to move the Item to Second Reading.
Senator Hellman seconded the motion. The vote was called to approve the Item.
The motion carried.
