In Support of urging broad consultation And Shared Governance in Satellite Campus Development Planning

Whereas: 
San Francisco State University is guided by principles of shared governance; and
Whereas: 
San Francisco State University is exploring several possible new campus and building locations in the San Francisco Bay Area; and
Whereas: 
faculty and staff possess a wide range of knowledge, skills, and expertise; and
Whereas: 
the SF State strategic plan calls for the University to "develop an overall plan for the strategic alignment, sustainability, and facilities management of its satellite campuses including the Downtown Campus, Romberg Tiburon Campus, and proposed locations in Bay View/Hunters Point or others yet to be identified.  This will include ensuring that future investments in satellite locations are in line with the mission of the university, incorporate the needs and viewpoints of all stakeholders, and meet financial benchmarks set by the campus and CSU."
Resolved: 
that the Academic Senate respectfully asks the University Administration that there be clear and timely communication of related issues and developments with faculty and staff; and
Resolved: 
that there be ongoing and active collaboration, consultation, and shared decision-making with faculty and staff throughout the planning process, insofar as it impacts faculty and staff; and
Resolved: 
that the Senate Executive Committee be involved in any major decisions made during the summer and beyond.
