Resolution on Adjustments to Academic Calendars 2000-2001and 2001-2002

WHEREAS, The Board of Trustees of
The California State University has adopted a resolution in its January 2001
meeting making Cesar Chavez Day (March 31) one of the holidays that must be
observed on the specified day if it does not fall on a Saturday or Sunday; and
WHEREAS, The same resolution also
mandates that “Any holiday which falls on a Saturday shall be observed on the
preceding Friday and any holiday which falls on a Sunday shall be observed on
the following Monday”;
RESOLVED, that the SFSU 2000-2001
academic calendar be modified by including Friday, March 30, 2001, as the
observed Cesar Chavez Day with campus closure; and
RESOLVED, that the SFSU 2001-2002
academic calendar be modified by including Monday, April 1,2002, as the
observed Cesar Chavez Day with campus closure; and
RESOLVED, that the 2001-2002
academic calendar be further modified by moving the observance of the
President’s Day to the week between the Christmas and the New Year.
