The meeting will start a 2:00 p.m. with an opportunity for participants to check their settings and the Officers to take attendance. Instructions are available on iLearn for Senators and through email (senate@sfsu.edu) for guests.
Announcement: Sen. Chen – Russell Jung has a video coming out this week about anti-Asian racism. 23-minute video including an instructional guide that faculty can utilize.

1. Approval of the Agenda for May 12, 2020

3. Welcome from the 2019-20 Chair
· Thank you for your commitment to shared governance. It will be very important in the coming years.
· It is important to hear all voices on our campus and this is a good forum for ensuring that voices are heard.

5. Election of Chair of the Academic Senate
· Nominations included Sens. Stowers, Albiniak, Platas
o Sen. Platas respectfully declined the nomination
o Sens. Stowers and Albiniak accepted the nomination.
o VOTE:
§ Initial vote was a tie
§ Senators voted to allow the candidates to deliver a live statement to the senate plenary session and then follow those statements by another vote.

6. Election of Vice-Chair of the Academic Senate
· Nominations included Sens. Wilson, Robinson, Goldman, Platas, Leopardo, Stowers, Hulik, and Wilczak, Van Cleave
o Sens. Robinson, Platas, Leopardo, Stowers, Van Cleave, Hulik, and Wilczak respectfully declined the nomination
o Sens. Goldman and Wilson accepted the nomination
o VOTE:
§ The Vice Chair of the 2020-2021 SFSU Academic Senate: Sen. Wilson
7. Election of Secretary of the Academic Senate
· Nominations included Sens. Schwartz, Small, and Platas
o Sens. Small and Platas respectfully declined the nomination
o Sen. Schwartz accepted the nomination
o NO VOTE due to the fact that there was only one standing nomination.

8. Elections of At-large members of the Executive Committee
· First of two seats:
· Nominations included Sens. Wilczak, Rubin, Wong, Kulik, diamond, Small, Van Cleave, Kavuri-Bauer, Ramirez, Neilsen, Ward, Goldman, Bui
o Sens. Wong, Kulik, Diamond, Kavuri-Bauer, Nielsen, Ward, Goldman, and Bui respectfully declined the nomination
o Sens. Wilczak, Rubin, Small, Van Cleave, and Ramirez accepted the nomination
o VOTE for first of two at-large members of the Executive Committee
§ At-large member of the SFSU Academic Senate Executive Committee: Sen. Wilczak
· Second of two seats second of two at-large members of the Executive Committee
· Nominations included Rubin, Kulik, Small, Van Cleave, Ramirez, Goldman, Holschuh, Hulik, and Hines.
