Resolution Thanking and Commending Dr. Wei Ming Dariotis for her service as Faculty Director of the Center for Equity and Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CEETL)

Dr. Wei Ming Dariotis was appointed as the Faculty Director of the Center for Equity and Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CEETL) in 2019; and

Dr. Dariotis served as lead developer of the Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion in Pedagogies of Inclusive Excellence (JEDI PIE) Institute, leading and supporting faculty in anti-racist pedagogy and practice; and

Dr. Dariotis co-organized two annual Faculty Retreats: “To Serve the People: Pedagogies for the City’s University” (2019) and “How to Be an Anti-Racist University” (2020); and

Dr. Dariotis extends her work in anti-racist education beyond the campus, speaking at the California Faculty Association General Assembly (2021), the Association of Asian American Studies Conference (2021), CSU Long Beach New Department Chairs Learning Community (2021), the CSU Department Chairs Forum (2020), and the Future Trends Forum (2020); and

Dr. Dariotis served as San Francisco State University Academic Senate Vice Chair (2010-11), Secretary (2009-10), and Academic Policies Committee/Educational Policies Committee Chair (2008-09), and Co-chair of the Teaching Effectiveness Assessment Task Force (2019-2022); and

Dr. Dariotis’ leadership of CEETL during the Spring 2020 transition to online teaching and in the subsequent semesters resulted in numerous, tremendously helpful trainings and workshops for faculty, as well as ongoing support at every level of the university for continuing to develop and refine effective, engaging, anti-racist, socially just, inclusive and equitable teaching practices both online and in person; and

Dr. Dariotis’ contributions to the SF State campus and community reflect deep commitment, care, and dedication to creating a safe, inclusive, equitable place of learning for all community members; and
