Resolution Thanking and Honoring Dr. Yenbo Wu

Whereas: 
RATIONALE: The Academic Senate offers resolutions honoring the service and commitment of faculty, and administrators who depart the university. Dr. Yenbo Wu started his career at San Francisco State University in July 2000 and retired in May 2021.
Whereas: 
Dr. Yenbo Wu was appointed Director of the Office of International Programs (OIP) and then Associate Vice-President (AVP) for the Division for International Education and Senior International Officer; and
Whereas: 
Dr. Wu co-founded the first Confucius Institute of the West Coast of the U.S. in 2005; and
Whereas: 
Dr. Wu provided exceptional leadership in the NAFSA: Association of International Educators, Association of International Education Administrators (AIEA) and Fulbright; and
Whereas: 
Dr. Wu served on the NAFSA Board of Director for two consecutive terms and as inaugural NAFSA Vice President for Scholarship and Institutional Strategy for three years; and
Whereas: 
San Francisco State University was awarded the prestigious Senator Paul Simon Award for Campus Internationalization in 2012 under Dr. Wu’s leadership; and
Whereas: 
Dr. Wu helped build partnerships and forge agreements between SF State and many universities and institutions in countries throughout the world; and
Whereas: 
Dr. Wu’s commitment to international education and campus internationalization has greatly enhanced the educational journeys of countless students and enriched the experiences of faculty and staff across campus and beyond; and
Whereas: 
The All-University Committee for International Programs (AUCIP) recognizes the admirable service of Dr. Wu; therefore be it
Resolved: 
That the Academic Senate of San Francisco State University commends Dr. Yenbo Wu on his remarkable service to the University community on behalf of international education; and be it further
Resolved: 
That the Academic Senate of San Francisco State University thanks Dr. Yenbo Wu and wishes him health, joy, and all the best during his retirement.
