Thanking the SF State Instructional Support & Information Technology Staff

Whereas: 
RATIONALE: In March of 2020, San Francisco State University moved its instruction from being face-to-face-centric to entirely using remote modalities for teaching in order to ensure the safety of its students during the COVID-19 pandemic. This shift in teaching modality required a swift response and increased support from our Instructional Technology & Information Technology staff (including Information Technology Services, Academic Technology, & distributed IT units).
Whereas: 
the COVID-19 pandemic and the necessary city, state, & national responses happened quickly in March of 2020, they required a fast response from our Instructional Technology and Information Technology staff in order to enable the completion of classes for the Spring 2020 semester; and
Whereas: 
the swift response from our Instructional Technology and Information Technology staff enabled our faculty, staff, & administrators to continue the operational functions of the university using remote technology; and
Whereas: 
Academic Technology quickly made computing equipment available for faculty, staff, & students to borrow during these extraordinary times; be it therefore
Resolved: 
that the Academic Senate of San Francisco State University thanks our Instructional Technology and Information Technology staff for their immediate response and hard work to keep San Francisco State University functional for the remainder of the Spring 2020 semester; and be it further
Resolved: 
that the Academic Senate of San Francisco State University encourages President Mahoney to create and observe an annual Instructional & Information Technology (I&IT) Appreciation Day; and be it further
Resolved: 
that this resolution be sent to the President, Vice Presidents, Chief Information Officer, Director of Academic Technology, and Director of CEETL at San Francisco State University.
